We’re pleased to share the publication of our new article, “Study on the potential of a novel semi-transparent rear concentrator photovoltaic system for agrivoltaics,” in Results in Engineering.
This work introduces a pioneering step forward in the design of semitransparent photovoltaic modules for agrivoltaic (APV) applications. For the first time, we explore the concept of rear-side optical concentration through an innovative module that combines crystalline silicon solar cells with crossed compound parabolic concentrators (CCPCs). The goal: boost electrical generation without sacrificing transparency, a key factor for optimal crop development.
🔍 The results are highly encouraging, and you can find them at the link below. They highlight the strong potential of rear-side optical concentrators to enhance the performance of semitransparent PV modules while maintaining high light transmission—opening the door to advanced solutions for solar–agriculture integration.
