Finalized the “50th IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference (PVSC 50)” which took place from June 11 to 16 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and where two works were presented in which Advances in Photovoltaic Technology (AdPVTech) participated, led from the University of Jaén (UJA) by Dr. Eduardo F. Fernández and Dr. Florencia Almonacid Cruz.
Specifically, a contribution was made to the oral presentation “Reducing the photovoltaic operation and maintenance costs through an autonomous control operation center”. This work is part of the ROM-PV project and involves collaboration with researchers from the PV Technology Laboratory, FOSS Reseacrh Centre for Sustainable Energy, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, University of Cyprus and Alectris Hellas IKE, Industrial Area of Thessaloniki.
Another contribution was the presentation “An investigation on the pollen-induced soiling losses in utility-scale PV plants” and finalist of the Best Student Presentation Award. This is a work carried out thanks to a research stay made by Joao G. Bessa at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL), with the participation of researchers from Solar Unsoiled, Inc., Durham, NC, USA; National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Golden, CO, USA; Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, Duke University, Durham, NC, USA and Dept. of Astronautical, Electrical and Energy Eng. (DIAEE), Sapienza University of Rome, Italy.
We are delighted to have had the opportunity to share this knowledge and collaborate with other experts in the field of photovoltaics. We continue!
