The physical meeting of the project with acronym ROM-PV, entitled “Reduction of photovoltaic operation and maintenance (O&M) costs through an advanced online platform”, was held on July 7, 2022 at the Universidad de Jaén sponsored by the research group Advances in Photovoltaic Technology (AdPVTech).
The ROM-PV project has been initiated to develop and commercialize a product that will enable preventive and predictive maintenance and ensure optimal PV plant performance while reducing the costs associated with O&M. This will be achieved through the development of a cloud-based solution that will host innovative algorithms capable of a) guaranteeing data quality and b) enabling the diagnosis of faults and performance losses (open and short circuit faults, inverter and bypass diode failures, shading, degradation, soiling, etc.) without interrupting the normal operation of the PV plant.
This is an industry-driven project that combines the research expertise of two reputable research groups (PV Lab of UCY and AdPVTech of UJA) and an industrial partner (Alectris) specialized in maintenance and asset management services, with award-winning software and adaptive technologies.

In this meeting we also took the opportunity to present the rest of the research areas developed in AdPVTech to detect possible synergies.
Thank you Constantinos Peonides, Anna M. and Andreas Livera for your presence.
